At the beach
We went to Navarre Beach Memorial Day weekend with my family. It was wild and crazy with seven children, the oldest of which is five. And three of them are 2 year olds! Yikes. You can imagine how loud and busy it was. But it is always a good time!
Maggie and Will love on baby Lily.

Papa's birthday cake is a hit with Sam.

Would you let this man watch your child? Andy agreed to babysit Evan and promptly fell asleep. Evan didn't seem to mind.

Check Up
Miss Lily had her one month well baby visit today. She now weighs 7 lbs 13 oz and is 21" long, meaning she's gained almost 2 pounds and grown an inch and a half in three weeks. Yea! The doctor says her growth is great! She also had a shot and blood drawn. She was a very unhappy camper after that. Sam went with us and was very well behaved. I think he was just glad he wasn't the one being poked and prodded!

S-A-M T-U-C-K
The Longleys sent Sam and Lily these wonderful stools with their names in a puzzle on them. Cliff had one when he was little and Sam loves to play with it whenever we visit. Sam was so excited he was practically bouncing off the walls after he opened his very own. He uses it everyday in the kitchen, bathroom, and while watching TV. He loves it! He even loves doing Lily's puzzle too. Thank you Longleys! What an awesome gift.
Wubba- what?!
Lily got some new binkies. She wants to suck when she is sleepy but can't keep one in her mouth. So I found a binky attached to a little animal called a Wubba Nub. It is designed to put light pressure on the binky to keep it in or near a newborn's mouth for those babies that can't do it yet themselves. When she gets a little older, she can pick up the animal and put the binky back in herself. It can also become a lovie. So far she seems to like it.

Hooray for Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all you mamas out there!
I've had a great day. Andy let me sleep in until 10 am (of course sweet Lily was up most of the night so it was needed), made me breakfast, and gave me a gift certificate to a spa. Then we took the kids to the playground where Sam had his first snocone. I also got hid in the head with a falling tree branch, but that is another story. Now Sam and Lily are napping (well Sam not so much; I can hear him in there opening and closing the closet door) and we are watching the Cubs game. This afternoon we are going to a concert at a park in our neighborhood. After that, Andy is going to make another Super Supper and we will relax at home. I can't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day! I am so grateful for my beautiful babies and my wonderful husband!
For my mom: Happy Mother's Day. I don't know how you did it. You're a saint! I love you. XOXOXO

Hello Kitty
We have a stray cat that came with our house. We (Sam) named him Darnell and today found out he is actually a girl, and a new mother at that! We saw her in the yard feeding her four kittens. I am no expert on cats but I think they look several weeks old. This is the first we have seen of them and they disappeared soon after we went in the yard to get a closer look at them. We have named them Darnell Jr., Red, Rod, and Blanco. See if you can figure out which ones they are.

Poor baby Lily!
Only three weeks old and she already has a cold (either that or she is allergic to us)! She is congested, has watery eyes, is sneezing like crazy, yucky nose, the whole nine yards. She hasn't been eating as much and she's sleeping alot. Thankfully she is still able to get some rest even though she is having trouble breathing. No fever yet and still having wet diapers so I am trying not to freak out.

Super Suppers
Andy's co-clerks got together and gave us a wonderful gift for Lily's birthday. They gave us a gift certificate to Super Suppers so we could have lots of ready made meals on hand for when we just don't get around to cooking. So Jess and I spent a morning there preparing meals before Lily was born and they have been waiting for us in the freezer. We had Parmesan Chicken with Creamy Sage Sauce tonight and it was delicious. And the most super thing about it was my husband followed the directions and made it all by himself!!

A new friend!
Congratulations to our friends, Marguerite and Pat, who had a beautiful baby girl last week. Marguerite Ann was born April 26 weighing 9 lbs 5 oz and was 22 inches long. (Her daddy is very tall!) Maybe one day Marguerite Ann and Lily will get in all kinds of trouble together just like their mamas did in high school ;)

And in this corner....
Miss Lily "Peewee" Tuck, after two and a half weeks of life, finally weighing in at her birth weight of 6 lbs 4 oz!!!! She is eating more everyday and sleeping more at night. Yeehaw! ( I am sure I have just jinxed myself and she will stay up all night tonight.) She is a sweet and even tempered baby so far!
