Note to my follicular(ly) challenged friends:

Growing your hair long in the back will not, I repeat, WILL NOT, make your bald spot disappear. Nor does it make your baldness any less noticable. It just doesn't work that way. Sorry, pal.

Truth or Dare

Lately there has been a lot of talk about telling the truth and lying in the Tuck household. It seems to be a concept that bewilders some little minds. Or at least I thought.

Today I saw something fly across the back seat (It looked like an arm.) so I scolded Sam, "Did you just hit your sister?"
Quickly, "No."
"Are you telling the truth? Don't lie to Mama!"
"No! I didn't hit her." As if to help his story, he leans over to Lily and wiggles his fingers saying, "Tickle, tickle!"

A few minutes later from the backseat...

"Mom, tell the truth. Don't lie."
"I tell the truth (most of the time)."
"Do you lie?"
Without even thinking about it out came, "No. I never lie." Inside I am thinking, "Uh-oh..."
"Are you telling the truth? Don't lie to Sammy!"

(Damn, I knew he would somehow turn this around on me!)

Next time, I'm going to pick Dare.

Another reason

to not look away from a three year old during mealtime: as soon as you turn back around, you will find him slurping ketchup through a straw, then blowing it all out at his sister, who thinks this game is just hilarious.

Note to self

Never turn your back on a three year old with a cup of milk and a container of Hershey's Syrup. You wouldn't believe how much chocolate sauce comes out of those things in 30 seconds!
