Drumroll, please

Although she has not yet arrived, our baby girl, known before simply as "Sister", now has a proper name! Lily Louise Tuck is scheduled to make her debut in this world in about two months (sometime in late April). We arrived at her name pretty much the same way we did Sam's- it was the only one we could agree on. So sorry if you thought we should name her after you or someone in one of our families...we didn't.
Now that I think about it though, I chose Louise for my confirmation name, so I guess she is named after me! I'll have to do some research on St. Louise to try and remember why I chose her. Maybe I just liked her name :)
Now I have to go embroider some things with her name on it to see how it looks!

Jesus saves, but God doesn't want me to...

Apparently, the stars have aligned so that I will miss every children's consignment sale in the area (and there are plenty). They are great places to stock up on clothes and pretty dresses for Baby Lily and maybe even find a stroller that will accomodate Thing 1 and Thing 2. I sent Sammy off to early school today (kicking and screaming b/c I interrupted his morning cartoon schedule) and was ready to hop in the car to drive to Bham for a sale when the plumber that I have been begging my landlord to send over FOR MONTHS showed up unannounced to fix our leaking bathtub and kitchen ceiling combo/potential disaster area. Don't get me wrong, I will be grateful when the damn leak is fixed and not threatening to collapse the ceiling below onto our refrigerator, but come on. Today? Really? It's been five leaky months....is one more day really going to make a difference? And not even a phone call??
I guess my beautiful baby girl will either be naked or wearing gorgeous smocked clothing that I will be forced to buy at FULL PRICE all because a gal cannot get to one of eight thousand consignment sales in the state of Alabama!!!!
Grrrrr.

PS. Please remember that I am crazy and pregnant as you read this.

Putt putt to the Pizza Hut

Or over to our house for pizza made by Chef Sam. He made us dinner tonight and it was delicious!
I think this kid may have a future as a pizza cook like his dad and Papa Hughes.

Happy Birthday to me!!!

I had a wonderful birthday! Thanks for the emails, calls, and gifts. My darling husband treated me like the thirty something (yikes!) queen that I am. He gave me chocolate covered strawberries, flowers, and some beautiful earrings. He even got a babysitter for Sam so we could have dinner at a restaraunt I have been wanting to try. I don't want the day to end! I am a lucky girl (or old lady!).

In keeping with a tradition I have, I bought myself a birthday gift too :) I ordered a serger from amazon.com and it should be here next week!!!

Sorry, Becca, no snaps in the crotch...I don't know how to do that yet!

Big Weekend

Sam and I went to Fairhope this past weekend and we had so much to do! Saturday we went to Ben's basketball game (first victory of the season! A win in overtime- very exciting!!), then Sam went to play with his cousins Will and Claire while I went to my friend Marguerite's baby shower. Next, Sam got a haircut and then we went to my friend Lacy's house to visit. After that, we had dinner at Mom and Dad's house with Becca and Rachael and their families. Becca brought over their inflatable bouncer and the kids jumped and jumped in it until after the sun went down. Needless to say, Sam was beyond exhausted that night. We dodged tornadoes (Andy too on his way home from Atlanta) driving back to Montgomery but all made it home safely. Andy even had the day off today so we spent the afternoon at the zoo and out to dinner with the Garrisons.

Valentine goodies

Sam had a Valentine's party at school today. Right when we got home he started negotiations for "cookie, cookie, candy" but I convinced him to wait until after his nap. He was so tired he (okay, we!) took a 4 hour nap!!!

Mama and Daddy gave Sam a Hammer Away boat for Valentine's Day.

Sam made Daddy a painting for his office.

Sam's friend Moseley gave him an awesome Chicka Chicka Sticka Sticka book. He loves it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sam had a Valentine's party at school today so yesterday we made some valentines to give to his friends. He liked sponge painting (even though he doesn't look very happy in this pic) and LOVED the glitter!

Greetings from "Sister"

I had a detailed ultrasound of Sister yesterday and she looks healthy but on the wee side. I am not complaining. I thought this picture turned out pretty cool. You can see her little face!!
She is 28 weeks now and due on April 30.

Super Bowl Sunday

What do you mean the Bears are not in the Super Bowl this year?! Why did my dad make me wear this jersey then?

Let's play Blues Clues

Use these picture clues to figure out what Andy and I woke up to this morning...

First, a pile of pj's on the floor....

Then, a used diaper thrown haphazardly into the trash,

Hmmm, what could be at the end of this trail??

Our darling son, naked as a jaybird, sprawled out in front of TV watching cartoons! He was as happy as he could be.
