Laura and Jake's Wedding

One of my wonderful friends from high school got married last weekend and we went to Fairhope to celebrate with her and her new husband. It was a beautiful ceremony in an old church on the bay. The reception was at a gorgeous inn also on the bay. I know they are going to have great pictures because the locations were so awesome. Congrats to Laura and Jake! We'll miss you when you head back to Singapore :(

Ladders, and poles, and engines, oh my!

A wonderful mom in our playgroup arranged a tour of a local fire station for our little ones. The fire fighters were so kind, friendly, and accommodating. We got to see the chief's office, the rooms where the fire fighters sleep, where they work out, eat, and hang out, and most importantly, the poles they slide down to get to the trucks. Then they donned their gear so we could see what they looked liked all suited up. We got a tour (and got to climb inside) a fire engine and a fire truck (I forget the difference but there is one). We even saw a firefighter climb to the tiptop of the truck's ladders and it was very impressive. We (mostly the moms as the kids were running around like crazy) learned a lot. I am completely awed by what these guys do (so much more then fight fires) and so appreciative for what they do for our community. So, if you ever meet a firefighter, thank him/her; you never know when you will need them!

They wouldn't show us their "Foxy Firefighters Calendar" (they were so modest) so I guess we'll have to wait until next year!!! Thanks guys at City of Atlanta Fire Station 21. Y'all are the best!!

Third and final Easter egg hunt

Happy Easter! We had a lovely day with family and friends (well, everyone but Lily and me because she was sick).

Carol made clues that Sam had to hunt for in order to find his Easter basket. He was so excited; running around the house and yelling the whole time. After the kids inspected the contents of their baskets, we went outside to find eggs. Sam did most of the hunting though. Lily just held on to my legs and hid her face. Poor thing! She had a rough day.

Later that same day, we had another egg hunt with our playgroup friends. My friend Nicole has the most amazing yard and the kids went crazy hunting back there. Lily got two eggs, both of which she threw back on the ground. Oh well, maybe next year!
