Afternoon playdate
Jess and I met for coffee this afternoon at a cafe in our neighborhood. Sam and Moseley opted for some gelato instead. The place was pretty empty and they were very nice to let the boys roam around, climbing on furniture and banging on the windows. Moseley even tried to pick up a college girl by spilling milk by her feet but had no luck. Jess and I were hoping to pick her up as a babysitter, but also had no luck :(

Mr. Tuck goes to Washington

Andy went to D.C. this weekend to visit our friends from law school, Kati and Jason, and meet their daughter Julia. He had a great time, saw the monuments, and even heard oral arguments at the Supreme Court. It was a short but fun trip. As he says, "There's just nothing like hanging out and having a few beers with the Burnizz."

My new favorite show!
Okay, so I only saw the last eight minutes of My Big Redneck Wedding on CMT but I can already tell it has a lot of potential! I saw a wedding where bride and groom wed atop their horses, auctioned off their farming tools during their reception to raise honeymoon money, and fed each other wedding cake that was made to look like horse poo. Oh, they had poo-cake after a special meal that featured various meats, like squirrel and rabbit. And the husband gave his new wife a wedding gift he found while dumpster diving.
How romantic. Kind of makes you want to get married all over again, doesn't it?

I hope God has a sense of humor...
Andy and I have been trying to teach Sam to say grace before meals and say prayers before he goes to sleep at night. Sam always reminds us by starting with "In the name of the Father," and then we all finish together. On an unrelated note, Andy has also been helping Sam hone his comedic timing skills by teaching him when to offer up a "Zing!" or "Hi-oh!" after a funny comment by someone at the table. Well, he has decided to combine all this new knowledge. This morning, as we said grace before breakfast, Sam very sweetly made the Sign of the Cross and said "In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy...Hi-oh! Zing!" and grinned up at me. I felt like I was having breakfast with Ed McMahon.

It's good to be home!
After weeks of travel to places with freezing to below zero temperatures, we are back in the warm wonderful south. Today is a gorgeous day and it is 74 degrees. I could sunbathe out there if I wanted!! I will not subject my neighbors to the sight of roly poly me in a maternity swimsuit, but I could if I felt like it. I love love love the weather down here in sunny Montgomery!

Happy New Year!
United Airlines sent us a few extra days of vacation as a New Year's present by cancelling our flight this morning. We are now scheduled to return to Montgomery on Friday January 4. We have some cute pictures I will post soon.
