Sam loves our new bathroom scale. (We had to get a new one because he broke the old one.) Anyway, he taps it, waits for the zeros to come up, and gets on. Then he happily announces however many "points" he has.
"Look, Mom! I have 3 and 0 points!"
I do not know how he got the idea that a scale measures your weight in points, but I kind of like it. Maybe we should all look at it that way.
"Hooray!! I have more 5 points than I did last week! YES!!!!"
Wouldn't that be great?

A is for artist
Sam has become quite the artist lately and really loves to "write." The good news is he can write an A- "up, down, and a belt"- but the bad news is he has been writing it EVERYWHERE. Like the fireplace (above), the floor, the TV screen, and the wall.
Papa Hughes says sometimes art just "explodes out of you!" Hmph. I wish it would just explode onto paper or the easel like it is supposed to.

Let's go to the movies...
I actually got to go to the movies this past weekend (thanks to my darling husband for babysitting). It was great! Jess and I went to see Juno, a movie about a sixteen year old girl who gets pregnant and the subsequent decisions she must face. I loved it. You should definitely see it. You will absolutely laugh (and cry a little too) and wonder how your sixteen year old self would have handled a similar situation.
As soon as the credits rolled, I thought, "I want to see that again!" Plus, the soundtrack is awesome.
Go see Juno!!
Andy and I are planning to see Into the Wild this week. Which means I will probably won't get to go to the movies for another two years since I will have seen two in one week!

Molly's Birthday dress
I made Molly a dress for her birthday and it is my favorite one so far. I fell in love with this fabric. I also decided to use some old fabric for the facing for a fun contrast. I think it turned out really cute!
Unfortunately, we can't give it to her tomorrow at the Helton girls' birthday party because Sam is sick :(
